Cost & quotes
What a UK structured cabling quote should include in 2026
Price drivers for commercial copper plants — without a public day-rate table — plus inclusions, red flags and how honest scopes are written.
Buyers search for “structured cabling cost UK” because opaque quotes waste weeks. We will not publish a national day-rate or “from £X per point” tariff. We will tell you what moves price and what a complete quote lists.
Price drivers (not a tariff)
- Outlet / permanent-link count and category (Cat6 vs Cat6A)
- Pathway reality: new containment vs shared basket, risers, live areas
- Occupied vs empty floor; out-of-hours premiums
- Whether certification is in scope
- Materials ownership and specified hardware
- Documentation depth (legends, as-builts, snag process)
Two sites with “100 points” are not the same job.
Inclusions checklist
A serious quote should state:
- Category and test method (if any)
- Faceplates / floor boxes / panels assumed
- Containment in or out of scope
- Labelling scheme
- Working hours and access assumptions
- What “complete” means for snag and handover
Red flags
- Round-number prices with no point schedule
- “Certified” with no method named
- No mention of occupied-site controls on a live floor
- Category upgrades sold without a use case (see Cat6 vs Cat6A)
How we scope
On Structured Cabling we lock a point schedule before tools arrive where the engagement allows. Send drawings or a rough count via Contact for a discovery conversation — not a surprise invoice format.
