FIBRE & SPLICE

OS2 · OM3–OM5

Fibre Optic Cabling & Termination — London & UK

OS2 and multimode backbones with on-site fusion splicing, dressed ODFs and test evidence written into the package.

On-site fusion splice · Frame legend · Loss figures in the pack

Copper gets the desks online; fibre keeps buildings and cabinets talking when bandwidth and distance outgrow the riser. We treat the optical plant as a finished assembly — pulled, spliced, dressed and measured — so the next engineer does not inherit a bird’s nest in the ODF.

Work ships direct to the end client or as overflow inside another contractor’s programme. Either way the splice trays look the same: labelled, tested, ready to hand to IT.

What's included

  • Building and campus backbone pulls
  • Inter-cabinet and riser links
  • Fusion splicing and connectorisation on site
  • ODF / panel dressing inside the frame
  • Pathway shared with existing tray and basket
  • Loss testing to the method named in the brief

Who it's for

  • Sites linking floors or buildings that have outgrown copper risers
  • Comms rooms needing a clean fibre frame before switch migration
  • Cabling firms that need splice capacity on a peak week
  • Estates adding dark fibre between plant rooms — scoped honestly, not oversold

Handover

What you receive

  • Fibre type, count and termination hardware listed before mobilisation

  • Splice records and frame legend that match the patch field

  • Loss figures for the agreed test set

  • Route notes for the next team that opens the riser

Where it shows up

Typical contexts

  • Multi-floor campuses
  • Warehouse spines
  • Hotel back-of-house
  • Plant-room links
  • Dense cabinet rows

Process

How this job runs

  1. Lock the optical design

Single-mode or multimode, connector type, enclosure and bend-radius rules before price.

  2. Pull and protect

Pathways cleared with other trades; pulls protected through live areas.

  3. Splice and present

Fusion splice, dress trays, terminate and label the frame as one finished assembly.

  4. Measure and release

Test to the brief, hand over figures and close optical snags before we leave.

FAQ

Service FAQ

Pre-terminated or field splice?

We do both. Field fusion splice is standard when lengths or pathways make factory tails impractical.

Will you invent a data-centre specialism we do not have?

No. High-density or hyperscale work is only taken when the method and team match the brief — we scope honestly.

Can fibre ride with a copper package?

Yes. One mobilisation plan, one supervisor line, shared containment where the design allows.

Do you survey fibre routes for free?

Yes, when a visit is needed to confirm risers and termination points. Reply within one working day after survey or drawing review.

Need fibre pulled and proven?

Share routes, fibre type and termination hardware — we confirm method fast.
